Hello all,

I hope you survived the sudden cold snap this week – I hear Gunuma had a lovely blanket of summer snow!


A few quick things:
– we still don’t have a maintenance manager. The grass around the lodge is out of control and poses a significant fire risk. The committee is investigating a paid maintenance contractor to mow the grass ASAP
– a work party has been scheduled for the weekend of the 17th of February. There are some essential ground maintenance tasks that need to be done – please see the list below kindly sent to the committee by a member recently. So far there are no volunteers and no one to lead this work party.

The committee is asking for any volunteers who are able to help with some essential maintenance on the weekend of the 17th of February – please email the committee at committee@gunumalodge.com if you can help

1.    The seal on the bottom of the east deck door needs replacement or redesign as water flooded in in heavy rain.
2.    Electrical conduits to the front stairs lights (both the  metal stairs and the rock stairs) are damaged in several places and need repairs
to protect exposed cables. (Electrician)
3.    The kitchen and all appliances, pots and pans need their annual clean. One pot had been put back on the shelf without being cleaned.
4.    Both decks need painting top and under – some rotting timber
5.    West windows need painting (still).
6.    The Fire Plan is should be checked to see if it is still valid.
7.    The south BBQ needs a good clean. It has been left in a mess.
8.    Trim trees near the lodge – this is a NSW Parks fire condition
9.    Dead tree near the north east corner needs at least a trim where it faces the lodge. One dead tree has already fallen on the lodge.
10.    The outside light at NE corner of the east deck was damaged some time ago by the falling dead tree and still needs repair (electrician).

11.    Grass badly needs to be cut. If it dries off as it does most years it will be a fire hazard to the lodge

12.  Door handle in women’s bathroom 11-15 has broken off

13.  Windows at the front of the lodge need a clean
